Srinagar, Sep 11 (KNO): In a major action against drug trafficking, Police on Thursday said to have attached an immovable property of a notorious drug peddler in Humhama area of district Budgam.
“The property, comprising a double-storey residential house belonging to Sahil Yousuf Bhat son of Mohd Yousuf Bhat resident of Humhama, has an estimated market value of around Rs 50 lakhs. The attachment was executed under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, in connection with Case FIR No. 110/2021 registered under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Budgam,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
This development marks a decisive step in the broader strategy of Jammu & Kashmir Police to dismantle the financial infrastructure of narcotics networks, the statement reads.
The general public is once again urged to share any information regarding drug peddling or trafficking and cooperate with police in building a drug-free society, it added—(KNO)
